About Battle Motors
Battle Motors has been located in New Philadelphia, Ohio since 2013 and has held the Battle Motors name since 2021. Battle Motors was founded in 1946 as Crane Carrier Company (CCC), which originally focused on modifying, reinforcing, and remanufacturing surplus military vehicles for the construction and petroleum industries.
As market demands changed, CCC shifted to designing and manufacturing custom chassis tailored to the mobile crane sector. In the 1960s, CCC introduced the Century line of chassis, targeting specialized vocational markets for both on- and off-highway applications, including ready-mix concrete carriers and materials hauling.
Before the 1980s, CCC had introduced the Centurion, the first chassis specifically designed for the waste management industry. Within five years, they introduced the Low Entry Centurion, designed for residential refuse collection.
In the 1990s, they expanded into new markets including terminal tractors and quickly became a major supplier of "ship-to-shore" tractors for the U.S. Army. In the 2000s, chassis were updated and cabs were made deeper, the HVAC system improved, and tilt and telescopic steering columns added.
In 2013, CCC was acquired by Hines Corporation and relocated to New Philadelphia, Ohio, to focus on manufacturing custom heavy-duty chassis and purpose-built trucks across many industries.
Battle Motors acquired CCC in 2021 and is driving the transition to sustainable energy. Battle Motors is focused and committed to producing high-performance Class 6, 7, and 8 electric, compressed natural gas, and diesel trucks.
Battle Motors aims to build on CCC's tenured history in innovation and is poised to lead the electrification of severe-service vocational trucks, advancing the industry towards a sustainable future.
